You might know Linda Mitchell from the competition circuit, her book The Sisterhood of S.W.E.A.T., her inspiring social media presence or from her studio Chickfit Studio in Mason, Ohio. We first met Linda this summer in LA at the IdeaWorld Convention (where she became one of our first FitProNow subscribers!!) and were blown away by her totally inspiring, positive energy and attitude: she is truly beautiful on the inside and out.

Linda got started in fitness while living in Minot, North Dakota on the Air Force base. After the birth of her first child, she attended an exercise class that was based on the Jane Fonda methodology. Linda was surprised when the instructor asked if she’d be interested in teaching the class when she left for another base in six months. “Unlike today where you have to be knowledgeable and trained, back then you were just elected to teach a class. Learning to teach on the airbase required a disciplined, no-nonsense, hard-core approach,” Linda relates. This began her career and love of all things fitness, teaching, competing and coaching.

Linda first learned functional training with Cathy Savage Fitness and now has over 25 years in the group fitness arena. Currently, Linda is a graduate of The Integrative School of Nutrition and is certified in the following: AFAA Personal Training, AFAA Group Fitness Instructor, Yogafit Level 1-5 Instructor, Plyo-Glide, POSE method running, Roadrunner’s of America running, AFAA Step Aerobics, Spinning, Zumba, S.T.R.I.D.E., Hip Hop Hustle, Pi-Yo, Turbo Kick, AEA Water Aerobics, SCW Mat Pilates, Kickboxing and Bootcamp. Linda has used her education and experience to create her own brand of training, The Sisterhood of S.W.E.A.T., which she describes as “a workout that is kind of like a Ninja Warrior and Crossfitter, all wrapped up into one.” She trains competitive clients, housewives and career women who all have one thing in common: they want to look and feel great.

“Kicking mine to kick yours,” is Linda’s motto and her lifestyle absolutely reflects it. Personally, her goal was to compete until she turned 50 and is proud that this past year has been her most successful with 3 Top 5 finishes. She is glad she didn’t give up and knows that she still hasn’t reached her peak. She encourages everyone not to quit too soon or let your age dictate what you can do. “There is still a whole lot of fire left in this girl, going after my dreams full force has made me feel ageless.”

Linda teaches individual, group and online classes. She loves the support, comradery, healthy competitive spirit and laughter of a group because “everyone achieves more together.” Alternatively, she values the more personal nature of an individual session and is proud to help her clients do deep work, free limiting beliefs and have major breakthroughs in achieving their goals. Despite the type of session or class, Linda loves taking workouts outside. She loves running sprints, hills, trails, bleachers, jumping up on tires and running through fire during Reebok Spartan races. She feels most creative in this mode, too, when her heart is pumping, blood is flowing and sweat is dripping.

Linda’s heart and mission are for women:

"First of all, I want to help women love themselves when they look in the mirror and have that newfound self-love transfer into giving love and support to one another. Secondly, I want to build a community of women where we support one another and have each other’s backs, so to speak, instead of tearing each other down. Let’s build each other up. We all have something to bring to the table."

She told us that “when we find that authenticity within ourselves, and we are living our truth, we can step away from comparing and competing against ourselves.” We absolutely love Linda’s inspiring message and hope you’ll read more about it in her new book, The Sisterhood of S.W.E.A.T., which stands for ‘Strong Women Empowering Achieving Together.’

As far as her experience with the FitProNow app, she says, “I love FitProNow because it has helped take the nightmare out of scheduling clients and put order in my busy life. Other apps I’ve tried were so complicated I pulled my hair out moaning from frustration! FitProNow is so easy and creates order at the touch of my fingertips.”

Check out Linda’s website www.chickfit.me where she does online training (or get the schedule to take one of her classes at her Mason, Ohio studio). You can also follow her on social media through the following links: FacebookTwitter and Instagram or email her at chickfit@chickfit.me. We HIGHLY recommend grabbing your own copy of her new book, The Sisterhood of S.W.E.A.T., in which Linda takes you on a fit adventure and transforms your perception of what is possible for you.
